Hello friends! So, sometime in the past year of growth and stuff I have managed to:
- Upgrade my computer and phone so that video recording quality is pretty darn good
- No longer be freaked out at the sight of myself ON video.
What that means for you is: Hey look – videos!
I got the idea to document my Project Athena training process and then the actual walk itself. Does that mean that I am considering getting a selfie stick? Perhaps….. 🙂
In the meantime – here are videos #1 and two. The best way to comment is to donate 🙂 Actually, I am considering some sort of challenge/reward for donations. Like, if you donate and then ask me to sing, or dance, or something (g-rated please) I will commit to that on the next video installment. For sure I will read your name off and probably mention how I know you like I do in this first one:
Installment #2 was recorded on Sunday after my training walk and involves a little bit of whining about being (cough) older than I may have been the last time I did one of these events. There’s also some musings on life just because.

This would be why I love Rachel. Tells it like it is, no matter which party is looking the fool. And in this case, FOOL, is a kind word!
Vodpod videos no longer available.
I know. Lame. But hey, I got the idea for this post at night so I had to make do finding the required pictorial subjects in my house.
Courtesy of MusicMan. Something about someone gave them to him (I have no clue so dont ask), and he knew I would like them. He even trimmed the stems and put them in the vase.
Bird magnets – pretty cool huh? One half on each side of the glass.
I know, my original promise did not include cats, but that’s because I was having a brain fart! C’mon – I have to blog about my cats! (and I just lost Amuirin with that statement because we know how much she loves CAT BLOGGERS!)
But here’s what you’ve all really been waiting for. Football!! The Touchdown. Yes, I got the game dvd from the coach and with a bit of fumbling and downloading of software I figured out how to cut it down to a 2 min segment. The play comes in at the 1:29 mark. Sorry, the quality is not the best and the audio is actually about 3 seconds ahead which happened in the file conversion process, but you should listen to the cool squeal that the guy doing the filming makes as #55 catches the pass. Cracks me up every time.(Yes dad, I have the full DVD and will pass it on).
First, watch this. I dare you not to cry. I’ve seen this a few places already and it is totally cleared by Snopes so I will share this viral video which will tug your heart:
Meanwhile, here is a story closer to home of people who need some help. A family in the Bay area that was already struggling with a new baby who has needed cranial surgeries suffered another setback. The mom’s younger brother who was living with them and helping out fell through some stairs while holding their 3 year old daughter. As he fell, he covered Rory with his own body and took the brunt of the fall. Rory is fine, but her uncle is now paralyzed. Over on Mother Talkers, people who live in the area are organizing assistance for the family and they have found them an attorney. I wish I was closer, but barring that, I figured I could spread the word and share their reebles/paypal account in case you are so inclined to drop them some help.
UPDATE: – Here is an even better telling of their story.
