Fancy schmancy on sale for $25 Shaquille O’Neil #32 basketball shoes. No holes!
Found out today that the gal who works for me is pregnant. As soon as she told me that she is 5 weeks along, I said “Another August baby!” Yep. Which means that at my busiest time of the year, when I am crossing my fingers that I can put the money together to go to the Ykos2 convention in Chicago, my department will be dealing with a maternity leave. Ah well – plenty of time to figure it out.
Day off tomorrow for DS1s court appearance. Please keep all digits crossed for him! We are nearly 100% certain that he just needs to re-enroll in his DUI courses to remove the warrant and get back on track to get this probation satisfied. The cool thing about the downtown courthouse is that it is less than two blocks away from Horton Plaza. I should be able to get some shopping done – I still need gifts for the two guys who work me. Might even look for a new fancy top to wear with my black pants for tomorrow night’s silent auction event. Just feel like having something new and fun to wear.
Odd times with SP recently. I know he is relieved to have found a job last week. At Petco in their product development department. Heehee – he goes from the leading sports memorabilia manufacturer, to the biggest pet supply chain in the area which also happens to be a huge sponsor for the Padres. I might like that connection š Anyway, after a very vigorous hiring process, I know he was thrilled to land the job. But since then he’s been in a bit of foul mood mostly due to a bad roommate situation at his house which he is trying to end this month. Unfortunately SP is not very good at separating those things and the bad mood has spilled over to me. I had my one sensitive PMS day yesterday and just could not deal with it well at all. We talked it out last night, but he still seemed a little weird today. He’s helping me tomorrow night and I am hoping a night out with some food and drinks will relax him. Mostly I hope this guy just moves on already so that the stress can be gone!
Oh! Blood tests from the doc appt confirmed high cholesterol amounts. Both good AND bad. Which is, I guess, both good and bad!! She recommended getting more fiber in my diet and making sure I increase my exercise to 5 times per week. I’ve been taking 2-10 minute walking breaks with two other girls at work each day, but when I have A with me, that is all I squeeze in! I may need to just start running up and down the stairs I guess! Anyway, I will go back in after 6 months to check again. When I really thought about it, I am not all that good about eating fruits. Veggies are just about guaranteed with dinner, and most of the time with lunch as well. So I am trying to eat apples or pears as desert at night too. Pfft. Aging sucks. It’s hereditary though – and I do take after my dad who has also had high readings. Not that it matters. He’s healthy as can be at 77 with not one single issue other than an appendix out 4 years ago! And his dad died at the ripe old age of 101. Had a pacemaker inserted at 90. Totally overweight, drank, smoked – healthy! But I’ll still try to get the readings down so that I can avoid the argument that will ensue over medication.
Lovely shoes.
Fingers and toes crossed for N.
And have you tried wearing a pedometer… we have team challenges at work sometimes for the team with the most miles. Sometimes just wearing one makes me more motivated to move a little more in an attempt to hit 10,000 steps/day.
