That is pretty much the word I got this morning at 10:30. The breast care center’s computer operated machine used to calibrate a mammogram film with the spot where a needle should be inserted went caput this morning. The nearest technician for this type of machine was 60 miles away. Since my appt was for 2:00, they thought it best to alert me. So, I am on stand by waiting for a call to see if I can still get in today (doubtful) or else to re-schedule hopefully for sometime within in the next two days. Kind of frustrating since I had to make sure I took NO aspirin or ibuprofen products for 72 hours leading up to the procedure. If you’ve been following along in here, you know how rare that is for me! What with sinus headaches, neck pain or more recently some tooth issues, I eat motrin like candy. And yet, I’ve been fine since Saturday actually. Truthfully, since that last really bad neck pain attack in November, it’s been pretty good. I try to do my stretches as much as I can and it seems to be working. Anyhoo, until I get the phone call I am basically in limbo. Which, all things considered, is probably not bad. Imagine being the patient laying face down on the table with her boob hanging through the hole, local anesthesia already applied, nerves all entangled and then – oh never mind! Poor dear.
I hope they got to you in a timely and accurate fashion. Keep us posted.
