Hot hot hot!

So, the first heat wave of the summer is here. Yes, I said the first! Much like our winter, the summer has been much cooler than normal so far. Yesterday and today it finally got into the 80s here on the coast with higher than usual humidity. What that means is that rather than having to put on my sweatshirt as the fog rolled in around 5:00pm, I had to throw on a light sweater at 7:00pm as the sun went down 🙂 The horrors! Really though, we need the heat! We have flowers and plants that actually thrive in it and have missed it so far this year. More importantly, the boys need to be practicing in heat to get tougher. SportsBoy’s football scheduled is out. 7  regular season games – only 2 at home. And the 5 on the road are all ON THE ROAD.  Temecula (twice), Murrieta, Fallbrook and Oceanside. Other than the last one which is also on the coast, those will be some HOT locations. 40-50 miles north and inland where the heat does not ease up until October. Their boys have been working out in the ultimate heat of August out there. It’s going to be intense.  I am so nervous! We have been so spoiled the last year being undefeated. Logically I know it is ridiculous to expect the same this year. Division 1 – playing against equal opponents. I think every game this year will be like the last two last year – nail biters with boys leaving every ounce of their hearts on the field. Gaaaah!!

Yeesh! 10:30pm! How did that sneak up on me?! At least I don’t have to leave as early tomorrow. Well, good for me, bad for me really. I can sleep in a little longer, but it means being even more focused at my desk when I get to work again. SportsBoy has a Dr appointment for a meningitis shot at 8:45. Here’s a shocker – I actually found his immunization card tonight to take with us tomorrow! It pays to insist on basic forms of organization ;->
