Gifts are bought and wrapped. Well, except for DS1 and SP. They are so hard to buy for!! Cards are sent. Heck, this year I have actually sent out all the ones I ordered. That’s a first. One more week at work. Cards are coming in from around the country. Yep, feeling festive. I was invited for the first time to a traditional caroling party in Del Mar. It was so fun! And..interesting too. I got to know some of these people a little deeper which was a trip. I also toiled papered a house for the first time in my life. Hah – three weeks away from 41 🙂 I wasn’t even drunk! Just barely relaxed after three beers and a couple of waters ya know?
Oh – health note. Beer = no headache at all, but…not so pleasant stomach issues the next day. No sinus stuff since Monday either.
Back to the fun. Baseball tourney in Chula Vista today. I had to take DS2 since ex2 was prepping for his Swedish Christmas party. Its been 6 years now since I was a part of that tradition. I still miss it a little, but then again I dont really hang out with or talk to most of the people who will be there anymore. And I must say that last night felt like the beginning of a NEW tradition for me with these new mostly post-divorce friends. It felt really really good. So, the baseball. We had to play the Titans in the 1st game. Local rivalry with lots of tension and we TANKED! Mercy ruled out in the 3rd inning at 15-4. Ouch. Ths sting of the loss tempered somewhat by the boys getting the autographs of Trevor Hoffman and Phil Nevin who’s boys are playing on the other teams. The second game was a real turning point I hope for this team. They fell behind early and the score was 9-5 going into the last inning when they busted out for 11 runs and won 16-10. this was huge for them. I actually heard DS2 say that he thinks they can come from behind any deficit as long as they believe in the team. YAY! He is finally getitng it! Hopefully they can take this good feeling and continue with it tomorrow for game three of pool play. Ok, managers are paid and I need to catch up on some sleep from the late night last night.
