Big day tomorrow

DS2’s first football game of the season! Considering how well he did scoring that touchdown in the scrimmage, we are all very excited. I’m walking up to the game so that I can squeeze in a training walk. Training goes better when DS2 is with me!! I end up at the high school and the track with the Barbies and get in my miles. Not this week. Tonight was the only night I went out. I did do some weights and stairs here at home to fit in the cross training, but it certainly was not the same.

Had an interesting conversation with the older son the other night. Unbelievably – HE is the one teaching his girlfriend how to manage her money!! Not that he has it down to an art form or anything yet, but he is much better. What is cool is talking to him about everyday adult responsibilities. He even said that he now appreciates why I would be so mad at him for leaving dirty dishes in the sink or when he and his friends ate my food. The GF lives in a house with roommates and apparently they are driving my son nuts with their messy habits. Heh heh heh :->

I thought I would take advantage of the no men in the house time again to watch some movies. I started with the first disc for Angels in America – the HBO movie that is 6 hours long. It was originally out in 2003 and I remember Jax just raving about it and I know no one else in the house would want to see it so this is the perfect time. I’ll watch art two Sunday night. It is really good! Fabulous performances which I expected given the number of Emmy’s and Golden Globes it earned that year. However, it is also much harder to watch than I expected for me. It’s essentially a tale of the devastation of AIDS as it was first spreading through the gay community in New York in the 80s (Reagan years). I just keep thinking of my uncle who died in the early 90s of the disease after a life in the closet and its breaking my heart for him all over again.
