Weekend away

Schedule for the weekend:

7:00am Sat – drop off DS2 for football game
8:00am – game time
10:00am home to pack and eat lunch and possibly start some laundry
12:00pm – leave to p/u my mom and then on to Mile Square Park in Fountain Valley
1:30pm – drop off DS2 for Game 1 of a baseball tournament. Possible early check in at hotel
3:00pm – Game 1
5:00pm – Game 2
7:00pm – dinner, retreat to hotel to sleep

Depending on how the team does in the Saturday games, they either play Game 3 at 9:00am or at 11:00am. Game two would be at 1:00pm.

If they make it past THOSE two games then they play in the championship game at 3:00pm. Which means that we would not be driving home until after 5:30pm Sunday night. Which could mean not getting home (after eating and dropping off my mom) until close to 8:00pm. It’s a school night, so he’s in bed at 8:30pm. THEN I can finish the laundry which needs to be done with all his uniforms and practice clothes from both sports for me to drop off at his dads Monday am.

The weekend hasn’t even started and I’m already exhausted! It will be fun though. Plus, we will be just a few blocks away from the house that I lived in for the first 17 years of my life. The one that appears in my dreams all the time. So funny how that works. I want to drive by and take some pictures though. I am sure it will all look different since my old neighborhood morphed into the center of the Vietnamese establishment just as we moved to San Diego. Hmmmm…maybe I can find a good noodle soup place ;->

Better go throw that first load of laundry in.

  1. Enjoy your weekend!

I was in CT this past summer, and my parents noticed an open house at the home where my grandparents used to live, which is also the home my Mom grew up in. My memories of that house were of cousins and aunts and uncles and everyone getting together at Grandma and Grandpa’s, all the time. I was a single-digit lil girl then. It was more wonderful than I thought it would be, revisiting all the rooms and such. And the realtor just let us walk through as we pleased, which was nice too. I hope you get to take some pics there!
