Chew on this!

I’ve been digging through the 200+ posts in here adding labels since those are new with the latest version of Blogger and I like the idea of organizing my posts. I’m also replacing some names. You see, I jumped head first into this blogging thing without much forethought. Therein lies one topic to chew on for me. It’s funny to me how sometimes I will thoroughly research things before making a decision, or weigh all sorts of pros and cons. Not to the point of being plodding or indecisive at all, but just very careful and conservative as my dad is. Like getting the kitten. I’ve been pondering that one for about a year. Then there are the things I jump into without abandon. Smaller things I suppose. But once I decide I am going to do something – hold on for your life because it is going to happen and happen as fast as I can possibly make it so! Blogging was definitely an impulse. Going back and reading everything from last year I can see that I am all over the place. It’s really just become a true online diary, but that’s OK.

Another topic to chew on though is how I have noticed that all of my blog friends at some point have posted something along the lines of “so I am probably boring everyone at this point..” All of us have written that! But of course, then the readers say “no way!” and they are very honest in saying that. I know, because I have posted a “no way!” comment in response to an “I am boring” post. The thing is, of course our own posts seem boring to us! They are posts about our own lives and things that happened in them. Reading them is like watching the re-run of a tv episode for the 4th time! (yawn) Switch the channel please! But, reading the supposedly mundane details of someone *elses* life? Especially someone who you do know IRL? Oh, that is great stuff! Because it’s not your mundane detail. And even if it just happens to be very similar some days, it’s told in a completely different voice through different eyes. There is nothing I value more than surrounding myself with people different from me who can expand my view of the world. THAT is not boring, it is priceless.
