Health report

I’ll start with the bad and end on a cheerier note πŸ™‚

The Bad – I feel so old! So many general aches. The right elbow from what was most likely poor placement of the mouse at my desk at work. That aching elbow makes it hard to use my right arm to lift anything on bad days. I found exercises online that I can do to help and I’ve re-arranged the workspace so hopefully this will go away soon. I also recently noticed that my hips kind of ache when I first get up after sitting any length of time – which means I mostly notice it at work. The first 4-5 steps hurt. Lovely. No clue what to do about THAT! Then there are the cramping toes. It’s not potassium related either! I’ve been taking supplements all month and STILL this weekend I had two major cramping attacks. Back online to find more stretches to help with those! Then there is the usual neck-ache that has been diagnosed as muscular in origin. I have been doing the stretches for THAT for a couple of months and yet..it hit on Monday night and still is not gone. I ate more pain meds than one person should all day yesterday. I took my last Vicodin at bedtime. It at least helped me to sleep (after 3 bad nights in a row for various reasons), but I still woke up in as much pain as before. Crazy. Never more than a level 5, but since it is constant on a dime sized patch at the base of my head/top of my neck, it is so freaking annoying and distracting and makes me very very cranky. I think I will pursue physical therapy for this one once the breast thing is totally settled.

The Good – prior to the Monday occurrence – I went three whole weeks without any pain there at all! That is awesome. Didn’t have to take pain meds for anything other than the sore boob from the biopsy. That was pretty nice. So I DO think the stretches are helping, I just wish it would respond to pain meds when it does hit so I don’t get so mad about it. Also, my cholesterol went down 30 points in between blood donations! That’s 10 points a month. Yay! It’s still not down to where it should be, but at least my diet changes are showing some results.
