Chip is fixed. He is wearing the Cone of Death (as my friend Jax calls it when her dog Bailey is saddled with one!) to prevent him from licking “down there”. Otherwise he is fine. I had him quarantined from Amber over night last night since she just could NOT stay away from him. He was pissed because he felt fine and wanted to be with us! He also weighed in at over 9.5 lbs which means that he has gained a pound since his illness. Yay! He also had a round of vaccines and just needs one more in 3 weeks to be caught up. Also microchipped him. So I feel he is up to speed as far as health maintenance which is a relief. Of course, last night SP spotted the first flea. Good timing as I took in Amber for her final round of shots today. She is now 7.5 lbs. Gained 5 since her first visit right after we got her. Vet thinks she will be a petite girl though. Perhaps no more than 10 lbs tops. Got some flea treatment for them and applied it today. So there you have my first two days off – cat business!!
DS2 is on week two of electronic restriction and is hanging out here from 3-6 every afternoon. Last week he was great! Really got into the activity books I bought. Yesterday he read his latest book for over an hour willingly! He’s totally got me into doing the Sudoku puzzles too. Now I am trying out the ones in the paper every day – they get harder as the week progresses. I love it. Need to remember to do things like this and crosswords to keep my brain sharp. We rely so heavily in computers to do all the thinking for us that we easily loose our own ability to think on our feet if we don’t exercise that muscle. I’m starting with number games since math is my talent much more than words, but I will get there 🙂 Meanwhile I love that HE is enjoying these diversions too. Shows him there is something more out there than computers and video games!!
I have a day in the yard planned for tomorrow. Cats are tended to, Powerhouse tasks complete, it’s time to get some dirt under my nails and clean up some weeds and check out the buds and new growth on the roses. I hope to have a collage of rose photos in a couple of weeks.

Enjoy your time off. It is still COLD here, and our plant date is supposed to be April 15. I’m not so sure we won’t still have frost after that at this rate, though.

Just don’t tell him that there’s a great little program called “Platinum Sudoku” that runs on cellphones. I’m hooked I’m hooked my brain is cooked….
The Boy is going to have “electronic restriction” too, when he gets home from his trip to the Cinder Block Resort. Except it’s the kind that wraps around his ankle. That’s going to be interesting. He’s been doing his time reading books & doing calisthenics with an acquaintance.
