Dancefest 2007

Do I have pictures? No. That would have required organization and planning prior to the event. Ok, I did SOME planning. I figured out that as usual, dancefest day would be the first hot day of the year at the school and since I would be there from 11-1 I should not be in a full business suit. So, I was comfortable at least. But, no camera. Ex2 had his, but is so bad about remembering to share that I wont hold my breath! It will be more important next year of course. This year, the 5th grade did some sort of hip hop line dance. Oh – dancefest is the end of year picnic and dancing exhibition put on at the elementary school the last Tuesday of every year. Counting from Kindergarten, this was my 6th. Next year, his last at the school, the dance will be the waltz and the parents will dance with the kids at the end. Many tears will be shed. This year, I did have to dance after with the class, but I was lucky that DS2 gave me a lesson last night so I was not totally lost. His poor dad though – eek! The really awesome thing though is that I noticed that DS2 has definitely figured out musical rhythm! His music teacher last year assured me he could be taught and he was right! Two years of band percussion and he totally gets it now. Yay!
