Back on the winning track

The boys began the process of recovering from last week’s loss with a solid performance this weekend and a 22-0 victory. With the shutout, they were back to celebrating and ice cream. The defense had an impressive goal line stand when the opposing team had 1st and goal with only 4 yards to go. 4 tries later and they had still not scored.  Sportsboy had a great fumble recovery – there was a pile of kids from both teams on the far side line and we could not tell what was happening until suddenly #55 popped out from the pile holding up the ball 🙂 He also a couple of great one on one open field tackles against a kid who looked like he was a full foot taller. I am sure it felt like a little bit of redemption to come back after that loss and show off their winning ways. But, I also know it is only one small step forward. They cannot hope for a re-match unless they secure a path to the playoffs so every game moving forward is a must win. One down.

Otherwise – oh, you know, it’s just been the usual quiet, peaceful, relaxing weekend. Or not. More later.
