Game Report

Slightly fuzzy pre-game photos. One of the dads is taking some excellent shots at each game and I am trying to go through them tonight and save some good ones. I will post those to my flickr account as I find good ones.

So today was the final regular season game. A Must Win if the team wanted to make the playoffs which would mean potentially 3 more games. And probably another showdown with Oceanside. They won rather easily 19-0. Sportsboy had his usual excellent game. He actually played a TON as his second string offensive unit was out there every other drive once the team had scored twice. Unfortunately, his unit never scored, but it was awesome that they got the time out there in a game. He came close! The defense had a fumble recovery on the 10 yard line so there was a short field and his unit was sent out. He got the ball on the first play and took it 9.5 yards – really! I thought that being that close he would get the chance to put it over. But, there was as holding penalty which negated that play and then trotted them back another 10 yards 😦 They were unable to get it in, but it was OK since they were already up so much. On defense he had several strong tackles and an interception. He came off near the end with a bit of an injury as he was speared in the middle of the chest (thank you shoulder pads!), but he recovered quickly and was very happy to enjoy ice cream as a reward for another shut out. So they play another week! The rest are all win or go home now.

For those who watch Jeapordy! – WATCH on October 17th!! My dear friend (and August mom) will be a contestant! She’ll be the one from Florida and that is all I will say about THAT until it is over – since I know nothing and we somehow managed not to die trying to get info out of her last weekend.
