After a safe few nights with the tree and cats co-existing without any damage inflicted, I opened the ornament boxes tonight and hung un-breakable only ornaments on the upper half. I *did* push the envelope a little with a mobile merry-go-round ornament, but it’s up quite high. Chip stared at it for awhile and Amber stood on the top of the closest chair and watched it, but that was it. Of course, I also made an appointment at the vet for Amber tomorrow because I think she has a cold. Last night we noticed one of her eyes was watering and then tonight in addition to the eye, she has sneezed a few times too. So, her being under the weather could be taking the edge off of her curiosity. Therefore, I will stop the decorating for tonight and not put anything obviously within their reach. It’s basically decorated from the mid-section and on up. From certain places in the living room, that’s all you can see anyway π Of course, you know what’s ridiculous? That I could still totally decorate 2-3 trees!! One would think that eliminating the breakable items would make the ornaments sparse. Heck no! And I tossed a bunch of old ornaments about 2 years ago and *still* have more than enough. I guess the one thing I take to excess is decorating, eh? And yes, I will indeed look at after holiday sales and pick up one or two new items.
Meanwhile, this post stress down time is so weird!! I worked so hard the last two weeks preparing for a possible trip that I feel like I can, and should, just lay on my sofa all week! Not such a good idea when I have a new employee to train. Actually, it’s a good thing she is there and needs my attention because she is keeping me awake and (somewhat) alert. Otherwise my brain just wants to shut it down for a bit. At least I bought SP’s present yesterday.Β I am still totally unmotivated to shop even though I am free to do so now.Β OK, enough whining. Back to the sofa π
