Christmas list

Stolen from errr…inspired by MLL at Are We There Yet?

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Wrapping paper and some of the cutest gift card holders I’ve ever seen courtesy of my local Vons grocery store!

2. Real or artificial tree? As a child it was real, but as an adult it is artificial ONLY. Pre-lit too. No fuss, no muss, done in 5 minutes. Works well with the cats and allows me more time and energy to decorate outside.

3. When do you put up the tree?

The Friday after Thanksgiving of course!

4. When do you take the tree down?  I hate to take it down. It’s such a pretty accent in the house between the mantle décor and the tree. But, depending on when my birthday (Jan 3) falls, it certainly is up until then and will come down the weekend after.

5. Do you like Eggnog? No.

6. Favorite Gift you received as a child? Barbie’s Dream House. No clue why! That is just the first thing that popped into my head.

7. Do you have a nativity scene? No.

8. Hardest person to buy for? I noticed a lot of fathers or fathers in law in other answers, but really for me it is my boyfriend! Hard to please, no real hobbies.

9. Easiest person to buy for? The boys.

10. Worst Christmas gift ever received? Can’t think of anything. I’m pretty easy to please.

11. Christmas Cards…Snail mail or E-mail? Snail mail.

12. Favorite Christmas Movie? The cartoon Grinch and It’s A Wonderful Life.

13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? The week of Thanksgiving.

14. Have you ever ‘recycled’ a Christmas present?  I cannot remember specifically but probably have as I don’t have any philosophical issues with that at all!

15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas?  Cookies! All the goodies at work too. This past week has been treat heaven.

16. Clear lights or colored on the tree?  Clear – non blinking. The colored and twinkly stuff goes outside.

17. Favorite Christmas Song?   Andy Williams – It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year. My mom poisoned my brain with that one.

18. Travel at Christmas or Stay Home?  Stay home.

19. Can you name Santa’s Reindeer? Of course! That’s a given when you have kids J

20. Do you have an Angel or a Star on top of your tree?  Star.

21. Open the Presents Christmas Eve or Morning?   Morning.

22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?  Commercials and jammed parking lots.

23. Shopping…Mall or on-line? Online. About the only thing I bought in a store were the aforementioned gift cards and cutesy card holders at the grocery store.

24. Do you decorate outside for Christmas or just inside (or at all?)    If you’ve been on my blog at all you know – Mrs Griswald is ME! Due to the positioning of my house on a very long corner lot that sits up a bit high I feel obligated to go all out. I have that wonderful side wall that is a blank canvas for decorating.

25. Favorite Christmas cookie?  Oh, Mimi’s lace cookies! I’m making those this weekend.

26. Do you own Christmasy clothing or jewelry?  I have many Christmas sweaters which I did NOT take out this year after reading a whole blog post on how out of date those are on the BlogHer site 😉 I do have a few holiday pins and earrings and a red and green jeweled palm tree necklace which I have worn this month.

27. Do you believe in Santa?   You bet!

28. Favorite ornament:   It varies year to year really. Depends on placement in the tree. This year since I was playing it safe with the cats and only used unbreakable ones, it is the French horn. Oh, of course! The spinning merry go round! I think I will always use that one. It’s just a bit more up high this year but still my favorite.
