Christmas music: I created a playlist of Christmas music last night and today which I have played almost all day now. Since I really had not listened to much all month, it was really nice to have it on and hopefully I wont be sick of it by Tuesday π I’ve got The Carpenters, Andy Williams, Josh Groban and Clay Aiken in the mix right now. Sorted by song title which is kind of fun so you can compare each artist’s version of O Holy Night for instance (toss up between Andy and Josh).
Gifts:Β It’s funny how many of us have spoken of the same thing which makes me feel better as I make the blogging rounds and see this. We all say “This year it was be smaller. Less gifts. No, I wont run out at the last minute and buy things just to fill the tree with more packages. Etc etc.” And then – we ignore the whole thing. Sure enough, while out searching for stocking stuffers – planned gifts mind you – I picked up two things NOT on my list but which will add to the bareness of the tree and made me feel better that SB would have them to open. Sigh….of course, at the time I did not know that Dell was going to bail me out so nicely so there was a little bit of guilt from that which I was addressing. Now I think I will still leave an envelope on the tree as I planned with a print out of what I ordered so that he still thinks it is not here, but then I will stuff the box (which is small thankfully) waaaay in the back so that I have to point it out to him at the end. Meanwhile the last Gameboy game is still not here! Santa is going to have some ‘splaining to do.
Lights: I replaced more of the old lights with LED’s today – now the entire back yard is re-done. It looks so cool!! Still waiting for that electric bill – should be out soon.Β
Quiet day otherwise. It’s so nice to be done with gift shopping, and still have two days to prepare for Christmas. All I really need to do is create a menu and grocery shop from it. Oh! I forgot to mention the best gift I gave myself already! I hired a cleaning service. A local one. VERY local. It’s called MusicMan’s housecleaning service π WHY I didn‘t think of it before (like, when I was swamped with all the football stuff for instance), I have no idea. But, it’s solved MY major problem which was finding the time to clean and never really being caught up, and one of his which was Gas Money. He cleans every Thursday or Friday. Floors and bathrooms and kitchen counter/stove top/sink at a minimum and then one special project each week such as showers, floor polish, microwave, dusting, glass cleaning. Oh it’s been awesome! I come home the days he’s worked and it just makes me smile. All I will have to do thisΒ weekend is a bit of floor clean up thanks to cat hair but it’s nothing compared to what it would have been a month ago.Β The thing is – he’s quite good at it! He’s already promised to keep it up when he starts working full time again as he could always use the extra $$. And he knows I really really need it done for me.
And that right there is why I am already having a very Merry Christmas π
Christmas music… George Winston. He’s on the Windham Hill label, piano music. I, personally, love it. Could be because I am a former piano player, but still, I think you might enjoy it too. π
