American Idol Top 24

The harshest cut yet IMHO. The camera in the elevator up and down. The long walk to the chair. Sitting in front of the judges. Waiting downstairs. Harsh harsh harsh!

My opinion of the ones they choose as they come up – I am typing and watching!

Carly! Irish gal with the tattoos from San Diego. Lord have mercy did Paula torture that sweet girl!!! I love her – so glad she made it in.

David with the pink tie – two tone hair (there are too many Davids!). I don’t remember being terribly impressed with him. We’ll see if he comes on a bit more in the ensuing rounds.

Rock N Roll nurse Amanda makes it in!!! To me, that was a no brainer. She is awesome. True though that she will need to spread her wings beyond the Janis Joplin sound.

16 year old David makes it! Simon was evil 🙂 Oh I really look forward to seeing more from this kid. Top 10 for sure. Young girls and a few guys I know (;-)) will vote for this guy.

Kristy Lee – Amazing Grace girl because that is the only song she sang well!! I’m so so on her. Nothing original about her from what I saw so far.
Brooke – Phillygal 🙂 She really does look like Carly Simon though without the enormous gap teeth (eek). I so so love her. Totally original for sure!

Danny! I forgot about him. A character for sure AND with a fabulous voice. Ok, overall he just seems Faaaah bulous you know?

Ok, they just zipped through three people – Jason, Luke & Alexandra – who I don’t think we have seen ANY of in the previous shows so….not much to say.

Ramiele – tiny gal with a HUGE voice. So adorable. Original? We’ll see, but likable for sure.

Michael – the aussie guy who sang Bohemian Rhapsody. How could he not make it?! He is The Real Deal folks. Original and good looking and charming and he can flat out SING.

Syesha – girl who lost her voice and then came back – Y-E-S..ok, that was kinda corny by Paula, but I glad she made it.

Robbie – rocker with the head scarf who SportsBoy loves. I’ve liked him every time too. Glad to see more of him.

And now they blow through 6 more who I just do not remember form earlier either: Garrett, Kady, Chakezie, Amy, Alaina & Jason. I guess in the grand scheme of this being a Soap Opera with singing, they didn’t present themselves with compelling stories just yet.

Aisa’h – the gal who lost her dad – she is wonderful and I knew she would make it.

David -another David!!?? – he’s the one who sings with more force than one would think. Simon was not impressed with him apparently but I think he has something in him that will take him further than it would appear.

Ok, one side not on a rejected contestant – not surprised Josiah was cut. As Robin correctly pointed out, I think he showed that he could not be molded into a pop star, which is the ultimate goal of this show. He was TOO into his own talent.

So lets see if my theory about having one goofy guy holds true…..will Kyle make it?? No! It was Colton!! Astonishing. Simon said it all for me. Kyle would have been fun to watch!! What is wrong with Paula and Randy?! They value singing over tv entertainment? Dangit!

OK, I remember *nothing* about the last two girls so I really don’t care. OK, I was wrong, their clips that they just showed..I didn’t like the Nashville gal. Oh yes! They chose Joanne.

Phew! That was stressful! No, I don’t mean for the contestants and judges, I mean for me! Typing while I watch is not easy! But, it was fun. On to next week when now it is in OUR hands to vote. Heh, voting seems to be the theme for the year eh? Move 08 gals – you will be proud. I used the hand weights during every commercial break. Kept my hands sharp for the live typing.
