I just read on CNN that Attorney General Mukasey has refused to investigate and follow up on contempt proceedings against two former White House aides who are refusing to honor subpeonas in the investigation of the 2006 firings of several U.S. attorneys (including San Diego’s Carol Lam who just happened to be the one to bring the charges against Randy “Duke” Cunningham which landed him in jail). I know, unless you are a political wonk like me you are not even *aware* of this scandal. Fine. Still, I find it highly ironic, ridiculous, inane, confusing, ludicrous, oh..just pick a word or add more if you like..that he wont follow up on that, or that this guy:
is walking around freely raking in $$ on a lecture circuit *without* even a subpoena hanging over his head. I mean, we can start with his role in getting the approval of torture rammed through and then end with the U.S. attorney firings which ultimately led to his resignation. But no. Congress and the Attorney General don’t have time for that. Instead let’s haul in this guy:

I am very tired of the whole steroids witch hunt. Yes, they should not use them, but we need to stop going backwards. Make a new rule with clear consequences and enforce it uniformly going forward. Leave the older guys who played their games without such clear rules alone.
