We are kind of at the 1/2 way point in 2008 for the election season and I am….bored. Tired. Burnt out. Nothing new *really* happened this week other than more and more people now rather openly recognizing who the final two are (no, I do not mean David vs David!!) Obama and McCain have been trading barbs all week. Snore. McCain is having a BBQ weekend at his ranch for his VP candidates. There are rumors that Obama has assigned the VP vetting task to a small group of his advisers with instructions to shut up about it already! (Yeah, that’s why there are those rumors :-)) And Clinton….just keeps making a fool of herself.
So instead, I will take a break and admit to something. I did not give up on Grey’s Anatomy. Actually, I just did a search and I guess I never did post in here that I was giving up on them, but I did. I was so mad just before the writer’s strike when they had Derek and Meredith break up yet AGAIN for reasons that seemed incredibly unbelievable that I declared myself done. Of course, it helped that there was the strike π But really, even when the show came back on, I didn’t watch it as I had before. I didn’t make sure the house was quiet and watch it on Thursday night because I couldn’t WAIT to play it back on the DVR. And yet, I also didn’t cancel the DVR set up. Because sometime during the strike I found Grey Matter. A blog written by the writers of the show with them telling you about WHY they wrote some of the things that happened. And then, I was not as mad. Things were a little clearer so I thought I would give it a chance. I was hesitant and waited until the weekend to watch with not a ton of enthusiasm. And then…well..the show redeemed itself. Last weeks episode and then last night’s two hour finale were brilliant. And I watched it live. And now I cannot wait for Season 5 to start again!
Rain! At the end of May! Memorial Day weekend! The annual end of season tournament in Temecula for the travel ball team! Cold and RAIN! Argh!!!!!!! Or, not. Could be one of those typical SoCal rain predictions that ends up just being gray and cold and mildly drizzly. OTOH they had a small tornado in the Temecula area yesterday so who knows? It’s either going to be a great final weekend of baseball with our favorite team or else a rainy weekend inside catching up on reading. Quite frankly, I will be happy with either one π
Oooh, thanks for the Grey’s link. I loved the entry about last night’s show.

Excellent political observations. I see there is snoring on the left and the right!
I am with you almost all the way on the Grey’s Anatomy. I did not care for most of the ending scenes. The writing was weak there I thought, except the chief and his wife. Thanks for sharing the link.
I would welcome cold and drizzly at the moment. I’ll trade you a HOT and sunny!
