Nothing much

Hansen’s soda should be paying my family. SportsBoy brings one in his lunch each week when he is with me and he conviced one of his friends to try it who’s mom wont let them have regular soda. When he mentioned that Hansen’s does not use High Fructose Corn syrup, she was sold and now his friend has been bringing that instead of a juice box (which probably had HFCS in it, right?!) Then I got into a conversation about food choices with someone in the lunchroom here at work and she just told me that she and her 3 kids tried it and now we are comparing which flavors we like! Hey at $2 per six pack at Henry’s, it’s worth trying out. And yes, it is an aquired taste, jsut as I think that learning to drink diet is an aquired taste. But I really like the citrus based flavors and SB loves the berry ones so it’s all good AND inexpensive. A much better treat at lunch than other options anyhow.

Update on the football player – yesterday he told me he would wait until today to talk to his coach since they work on defense today and he wanted to see the assignments before he broached the topic. Meanwhile he said that yesterday he made sure he was always first up for everything. First into the huddle after a water break, first to volunteer for any extra assignemnt etc. Of course, I told him that he should have been doing that all along eh? 😉 I did notice that he was not taking things as seriously as I thought he should given that there are 28 really awesome players on the team this year, but he needed to learn that on his own I think. So we’ll see how today goes.

It’s amazing how much we appreciate good service isn’t it? I just twittered a shout out to an employee of the the state franchise tax board because she has been a true gem to work with. However, she stands out to me because the first I don’t know how many people we spoke with were useless! I’ve been having a back and forth with them since late June (I think I’ve bitched about that already)! Not only did she give me correct info last week, but today when she received the packet I sent to her, she called me when she noticed a missing page – called me on her own!! Let me fax it to her and then promised again to have it cleared up by Friday from her office. LOVE IT! Of course, it is a shame that it is RARE to received service like that.
