Baseball weekend

Days 2 and 3 of the weekend were dominated by baseball. DS2s team played in a tournament in Huntington Beach. The schedule had them playing 4 games between 5:15pm Sat night and 11:00am Sunday morning. And being the cheapo that I am, I drove home in between rather than stay at a hotel! Of course, I am one of the rare women who just loves to drive and I am currently blessed with a car that is FUN to drive so it was not that crazy. The drive was easy anyway – just an hour using the toll road and the scenary is beautiful since it is all along the coast. Plus it was a wintery, rainy weekend with showers scattered and sunshine in between. He played on inning this morning in a downpour! The team went 2-2 and most likely narrowly missed the final game due the margin of runs scored vs runs given up. Oh well, they ended on a high with a come from behind 3-2 victory against a team they have never beaten before.
On another baseball note, there have been articles in the local fishwrap (San Diego Union tribune) with early reports from Padres camp. With pics. Of a new cather dude. #33. Mike freaking Piazza! I swear I still cannot believe he is on my little home team :-> I wont believe it until opening night.
