Internet community

If you have a little time, I want to share with my visitors three examples of the absolute beauty of the internet. This medium has created friendships and families everywhere. It has allowed people who are suffering and struggling through life to find people in the same boat, or better yet, people who have found their way past similar struggles and willing to share their stories. I want to share three of them. All are from my liberal blogs. Two were specifically inspired to write due to the recent absolute ban on abortion passed and signed into law in South Dakota. Don’t let that stop you from reading if you are pro-life though. Please check out these stories and witness the love and support the writers receive. Remember this when certain media talkers group all liberal and liberal bloggers specifically as anti-american, anti-family, and full of hate. They are dead wrong.
Janet A woman who writes primarily at Booman and who you can *feel* smiling and laughing with you. An amazingly resilient spirit. As are all of these people truly.
Sally I just added her new blogspot- Voice for Change – to my links on the right. She gives a voice to and advocates for those touched by abuse.
Darrell Check out his amazing poetry at The American Nightmare also on my blogroll links to the right. I met Darrell a few weeks before he stopped drinking. He joined the C&J cafe and chat early in 2005 and I have “talked” to him several times a week since then. I have never known anyone closely who gave up drinking and being able to witness his journey has been such an eye opener and really opened my mind to the strangehold of addiction.
What I love about all of the political blogs that I have joined is that they are so much more than politics. On any given day there will be at least one recommended diary at each site that is a “community” diary with a personal story rather than the latest political outrage or candidate posting.
If you get so far as to reading the comments in the diaries, my username on both is SanDiegoDem. Don’t focus on that though, my comments are so hollow compared to the writers’.

  1. Thank you Bobina! This is an absolutely amazing internet community and family.

Little did I know when I stepped forward how much life would change so quickly. So many contacts have been made and so much love has poured out I am in awe.

Even tonight I’ll be meeting with the My Left Wing folks in SF. I guess sleep is going to give a little bit to take on this fight.

Thank you for being here and being a good friend. Looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks.
