Floor Project Day Two

No more carpet! All furniture is out in the garage.

As I feared might happen, a rat died in the garage sometime within the last few days. Thankfully it was before the furniture was moved in and it never made it that far after getting inside through the broken vent screen (which needs to me fixed NOW) Unfortunately it smelled horrible in there today! I took off from work after lunch to get started on my part and was in the garage taking painting supply inventory and could hardly breathe. First born son who is battling a cold even caught wind of it. Finally I spotted it and he grabbed some pliers and picked it up and we disposed of it in a discarded planter pot outside. It’s much too early in the trash cycle to put it in the container as I normally do and I did NOT want it in the dumpster where everything we threw on top of it would just release more stink. Ew. So now I feel horribly gross and will spend some time scrubbing my bathroom with lysol and bleach just to make me feel better šŸ™‚

Sample paint is purchased. I will put some on the wall and take a pic later tonight. I am hoping for a soft olive tone. It can’t be too dark or bright as this is the smallest room in the house with all low ceilings. It will be a fast job once I start thankfully, but I have to be careful not to overpower the room. I thought a soft green with the cherry wood laminate would be a nice combo.

More later! Posted by Picasa

  1. Oh that looks like a lot of work, but I know you are having a great time–even if it is a little stressful. Can’t wait to see the finished photos.
    Love,
