Even though I’ve had stuff to say, I had no time!
Watched “Good Night and Good Luck” on Tuesday evening. Whoo boy. What a moment in history that was eh? It was so sobering to see the actual videos of McCarthy when he was running the hearings and then, most sobering of all, when he made his “rebuttal” statement to Murrow. To see just how low a Senator stooped just boggled my mind! And yet, of course the parallels with recent years were so glaring. An administration in power using intimidation and innuendo and slander to discredit opponents and any who disagree too vocally. Yes, we have seen plenty of that since Karl Rove took hold of the GOP sound machine. We have seen our 4th estate reduced to nothing more than corporate shills paid to editorialize only in ways that support the almighty dollar and their ownership.
Then Keith Olbermann stepped up. When he started with his Special Commentaries a few months ago it was there was a huge sense of relief. Finally! Someone calling out the administration, one by one. Highlighting the lies, the distortions, the hypocrisy and the corruption. While the viewers of his live show rarely tops 1 million, the internet (YouTube!) has spread his message much further. I have no doubt that giving a voice to those opinions finally sparked some doubt in voter’s minds. Think people, think! Question! SO, thank you Edward R Murrow for speaking out in 1954 against terrorism within your country, and thank you Keith Olbermann for recognizing the same strategies in 2006 and exposing them.

The end of year party for the Golden Falcons was yesterday. The DVD highlights were 45 mins long! As our coach said – when you go undefeated you have a LOT to highlight! The boys had a great time soaking in the celebration of their year. How lucky we are to have fallen into this wonderful group of families!! The highlight for me was hearing the coach say “next year” a lot, then confirming that he will move up with the boys to coach them again. YAY! I am firmly convinced that this football coach will be a huge part of our boys’ lives and also teach them so much. He’s one of a kind and I cannot believe our luck. I first met him as another dad when our boys were just 5 and liked he and his wife very much from the start. We developed a friendship outside of football. But when he decided to step in and be a head coach last year, well wow. I know my son will look back when he is adult and point to Coach Wolfie as one of the best life coaches he ever had.
Oh, and Momof4k can vouch for the fact that being around Coach not a chore. Easy on the eyes and all that :->

Had a special treat yesterday. Lunch with my man :-> We almost never have our schedules coincide for us to do that so it was really nice.
It’s such a shame that we don’t live closer together. I would love to look at that coach …ahem, I mean I would love to watch the boys learn their skills. LOL
Yeah, he is nice, in every way.
