The first day of his last year on this beautiful elementary school campus. Waaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!! 6th grade. Wow.

Yes, he was the shortest boy in his class from what I could tell of the kids in line outside his classroom. So many of the boys looked so big and tall and obviously pre-teen to me! He’s not intimidated though. He jumped right into the conversation as the guys huddled in one group with lots of “dudes” and “Hey, did you see how many girls are in our class?” and “What did you do this summer?” It was cool. Looking at the class list it DID seem like more girls than boys. I think there were 27 total kids in the class. But, looking at them in line, it seemed like there were plenty of boys to me!! Walking onto the campus he said “Well, I guess we are the big kids now.” I asked him if it seems like just yesterday to him that we were walking into the Kindergarten room and he said it did seem not at all as if it was 6 whole years ago. We had to pass the K playground on the way to his current classroom and I *swear* it was just last year that we were there! Dang. This is going to be a very bittersweet year.
