Update on those good vibrations

You know how they say that the answers to your prayers may not be what you originally requested? Well, the angioplasty revealed arteries blocked 80-90%. IOW – he got in to the hospital just in time and is very very lucky that this is how it was found. So now a triple bypass is scheduled for Friday early am. He’s blessed with excellent health – they asked him the usual introductory questions like “what kind of medication are you on?” since a 78 year old is typically on quite a few and he got to answer – nothing! And both my parents really have been very healthy so far. So his long term prognosis after successful surgery is very good. So there we are. Taking a break tomorrow to go to work (novel concept this week eh?). I’ll finally post the hiking pictures tomorrow too 🙂 Thanks for all of your good vibrations – they definitely worked as all three of us remained pretty calm all day despite the little bit of crooked turn this all took.

Oh, and a word of advise – do not drop one of your favorite things in the toilet. Yep, my crackberryblackberry took on water. You just imagine what color (oops, sorry, TMI) Even though I did the fastest rescue ever and it never really..err..sank..it was still a goner. At first I thought I had salvaged it. Took it apart and dried out every bit. It turned on and was registering emails. But the keyboard was not working. So I blow dried the keyboard part as much as possible and tried again and it seemed to be working. I got a voicemail, called someone, and then tried to read emails. Which is when the keyboard took on a life of it’s own and it started replying to an email! Then I went to exit out of email and it called my house!! Yeah..short circuit was complete. Given that I cannot live without that infernal device I went straight to the AT&T store after picking up SB and replaced the pearl with a full sized (still red) blackberry. So I got my big keyboard, just a lot earlier than I wanted. Got a decent deal since I did need to add another line to the family plan in anticipation of SB having his own phone in jr high in the fall. Sigh……bye bye cute little pearl 😦
