I signed up for this didn’t I?

What kind of a day do you think it will be if you have to start off by calling your state govt office on behalf of the youth league for which you are Treasurer, only to hear the automated response “Your wait time is estimated to be to 49 minutes.”? What if this was your 5th phone call to the same state govt number that you’ve made over the past 8 weeks? And what if the league president also had to call them in between that? And what if all of those calls resulted in 30-50 mins on hold before you spoke with someone? Or if there were failed attempts when their phone lines were so bogged down that the message was “Our call volume is too heavy to assist you at this time. Please try back again.” and the system hung up on you? And what if NONE of those previous calls resulted in correct instructions? Oh yes, you would be *thrilled* I tell you! THRILLED!

So at 7:15am (yeah, I was late, so sue me. Their phone lines opened at 7:00am) when I made the call and made my way through the now memorized menu to get to their real live person line and heard the 49min wait time I may have been a bit irritated. However, I lucked out – they were wrong! I got a person immediately! And she was actually able to FINALLY give me a straight answer. Now, the bad news is that the straight answer means quite a bit of work on my part, BUT, I finally feel like I have a clear picture of how to get something fixed that has been a thorn in my side with this league for the past 18 months. Some of that drag ass was on us, not the govt. I swear that no one will celebrate the end of this more than me! But, I got some work to do and I have to do it fast. Somehow.

Work that in with being committed on Saturday to being at the football field from 10am-7pm ish? Lordy.

Oh yeah, and go to Dream Dinner tonight to get food for this month.

And go a parent meeting for the baseball team at 7:30 tomorrow night.

And I’m complaining and SportsBoy is with his dad this week!!
