While getting new front tires on Saturday, Alex and I met a former Padre pitcher, Andy Ashby. Of course I am just insane enough to actually recognize him 🙂 But he was totally cool, loves talking to fans and signed an autograph for Alex. He retired after spring training this year and is enjoying being a dad to FOUR girls (yikes!). Alex was hugely thrilled I must say – it was very cute.
Auditors do not arrive until tomorrow now (we think), but they have already started emailing questions. Since all the execs are at a retreat in the desert (hot hot hot), I am it right now here. IOW, I don’t get to relax because all the execs are gone dammit!
Alex gets position assignments today at practice – he is so excited! He anticipates linebacker and/or safety for defense as that is what he played last year. But this is his first year with an offensive assignment so that will be a big deal.
Started the Big Flooring Project yesterday. Packed away the hundreds of candles and the crystal into kitchen cabinets and drawers to make moving the china cabinet and tv cabinet easier. Basically we are waiting for Nick at this point to move his Honda out of the driveway so that I can have a dumpster delivered. Then we move furniture, they demo the floors, I paint his room and then wood laying begins. I’ll do side by side before and after pics like I did with the appliances. I really really want this done before the holidays!
Reached the half way point+ with donations today! Yay! I sent out another letter to a work group and local friends. Fingers crossed that these get me to my goal!

I didn’t realize you were redoing the floors. Good luck with that project. I hope all the men in your life pitch in and do a good job. I love the HW floors in this house. Good luck with the audit, too. Sounds like you’ll need a dose of Russian Hill Syrah to wash those stresses away!
