Rain, blessed rain

Yes! It’s been lightly showering most of today. How awesome is that? Clean off the plants. Help to douse the fires. Yes!

Today has been a ‘run around doing errands ’cause it’s a rare Saturday without a football game’ day. New tires for the Honda, bank errands, pet supplies – fun stuff.

Work is going to kick my butt for the next month again. It shouldn’t. Usually November and December are super slow and relaxing after year end audit madness. But…the gal who came back from maternity leave…left. Can’t blame her – she found a better paying job much closer to home and with a new baby we all know how critical that is. But, she was only back for 3 weeks and didn’t get to fully clean up from the temp who took her place. The temp was ‘ok’, but not great and with nearly all the tasks only did things part way through or else kinda messed it up! She cleaned a lot, but there is also more to clean. Then I have to train someone again and given the number of tasks I will probably have to keep some with me for a bit until the new person is up to speed. Thankfully there is someone already. An internal transfer so someone who already knows the dreaded Peoplesoft system which is really half the training battle right there.

No game today as I mentioned. They start the playoff round next week instead (they eliminated a bottom level of teams to make it a two week playoff instead of three). Just a baseball practice tomorrow too – no tournament as planned. Oh, speaking of Sportsboy…ya know what he did? I dropped him back off at his dad’s Thursday night, but his backpack was still here so I went to clean it out from the stuff he had packed and I will return it tomorrow. Well, in his backpack I found the order packet for the giftwrap fundraiser. I had ordered some items and given him the packet. It was due to be turned in Oct 5th. Nice huh? Wait – it gets better! Also in there were the proofs from his picture day. With an order form. Due back…………………………………………………………………………..
