325 miles

Let’s play another round of A Day In The Life, shall we?

6:00am – alarm goes off to morning radio show. Let it stay on because SportsBoy is taking a shower first (remember, only one at a time!)

6:40am – rouse self from Nyquil induced sleep (cough stage of a cold is So Much Fun!) to take shower. Pick up cell phone to switch on. Phone vibrates immediately with a call! It’s the mom from school/LL who I thought would take SB to his LL game today. She can’t due to minimum day (pt conf week) conflict and thankfully reached me in time. Fine. Any other day would be no biggie, but I am not even going to be in San Diego today so I need to fix this. Email coach to ask him to take SB from school since his son is there too. Thankfully coach is online and emails right back to confirm he can cover. Whew! Finally get into shower at 7:00am

7:20am – Gather SportsBoy and all his gear and drop off at school

7:30am – Starbucks

7:40am – Fill up car with gas and reset odometer

7:50am – back home to eat breakfast, read paper and emails.

8:30am – Leave to pick up mom at her house

9:00am – arrive there, chat with dad for a bit and then shove off around 9:15am

9:15am – 11:35am – up to doctor in Montrose (near Pasadena) *Just a quick note – special family doctor we’ve known for ages and yes, it is worth the drive so no comments about that please and thank you :-)*

11:35-12:05 – read a bit while mom is seen.

12:05-12:30 – walk around neighborhood to settle the treatment she had on her back. Gorgeous day! If one must make this trip, this was the day for it. Temps in the 70s, sky clear and blue as after a rain. Hills green, mountains covered in snow, just glorious. I took pics with the phone which I will download and share tomorrow perhaps. Not now. Too tired.

12:30-2:00 – drive to lunch spot

2:00-3:00 – lunch and another walk. Cocos. Wonderful french dip and a dessert of choc chip cheesecake. Which I ate after taking a Lactaid pill and it did NOT bother me!!! Yay!!

3:45 – drop mom off at home. Literally. Drive up, she gets out, zoom! Oh, get reminder on phone at 3:15 that LL game starts at 3:30. Ah well!

4:15 – arrive at LL game. Sit and watch until 5:30. SB’s dad arrives and will take him home. Wave and air kisses to SB, team is up when I leave. No clue how it ended.

5:40 – arrive home to retrieve items for Pop Warner board meeting

6:00 – leave for board meeting

6:05 – turn around because you forgot a critical item

6:10 – leave again!

6:15 – arrive and order a salad to eat before meeting starts

6:30 – 9:50 – board meeting

10:00 – Fill up car with gas because yellow warning light is on. Check odometer. 325 miles

And that, I believe, explains why I was not online today!!!
