One of THOSE days

Yesterday was just one of those days:

Woke up at 6am feeling like I had not slept.

Promptly fell back asleep until 7am. No problem. I had showered the night before. I just wanted cereal for breakfast anyway.

Trip over a cat on the way to the bathroom. Grrrrr….

Start to put together my vitamin pack that I take with breakfast. Reach for No Doz (my coffee substitute) and…gone. Thought for SURE I had two left. Nope!

Grrr…ditch the cereal plan and head out the door faster to stop at the store on the way to get No Doz. Will eat breakfast at work.

Did I say a QUICK trip to the store? Yeah…they are tearing up the parking lot over there and it was a zoo just getting in and parking. Then I get to the check out area and the handy self check out that would take me 2 minutes? Down. How many cashiers are there? One. Of course. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

At work, the first three things I try to start? Roadblocks! One department that cannot understand the meaning of the word deadline. Another showing a total completely different from the day before when we thought everything was settled. Another changing it’s mind on what is needed. Auditors asking questions on items given them 6 weeks ago. Grrrrr….grrrrrr….grrrrr!!

So, I think I should take a break from work work and do some tasks for the web project I am working on with a friend. And that? Oh, it decided it couldn’t handle properly recognizing HTML links. grrrrrrr!!!!!

Thought I could get out of my funk and general irritation with all humanity by going for a run with the boyfriend. He called. He forgot he had a company function at the Padres game. In awesome seats. That he doesn’t care about since he is not a baseball fan!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Today was 1000% better. But it didn’t have very far to climb to be better than that cluster of fail 🙂

  1. Are you a padres fan? I probably knew that at some point. I’ve been cheering for the angels, hoping they eke past the Rangers before the season is over. Go Cali!

(We don’t have a baseball team in Oregon, and the Mariners are just not inspiring, so it’s Cali all the way.)

  2. Yes, I am a sad sack Padres. It is not pretty. I grew up under the halo of the Angels stadium so went to lots of games there. Oddly though I still root more for Boston as my AL team – though Angels are a close second.
