It’s so funny how the last few years of rain patterns have been – weekends only! – and here we go again. Last Friday it rained non-stop and now it is the same today. Threatening any sports activity for the weekend because even if the rain stops, if the fields don’t drain then they wont play baseball. Yeah, shoulda specific baseball since football is not quite so picky – they play in anything as we experienced in Oceanside 🙂 Makes it so hard to plan anything though.
I chipped away at my gift list this week. All online of course! Thanks to MLL recommending the Ebates site, I even earned a whopping $8.00! The big deal for me was deciding what to get for SB once I eliminated a new gaming system from the list. After a research visit to GameStop I abandoned the Wii idea for now. It will be much easier to get one in the summer for his birthday and also gives me time to save the $$. For the price of one Wii bundle pack I’ve bought gifts for SP, SB, me 🙂 and my parents. Besides, the next level gaming systems really call for an updated tv for him since he is currently using a handed down one which is pretty crappy. Hey, does anyone know if a Wii can just plug in to a monitor of any kind? Maybe a nice flat panel? He does not, and will not, be using the tv AS a tv so really I am hoping to avoid spending TV money on his room. However, the prices on really good flat panels is way down and I thought it might be another option?
Meanwhile, I have to thank? Miss Music Nerd for that link in one of her posts to the classic Adam Sandler Hanukkah song. Not so much for sharing that 🙂 but more for getting me on YouTube that night. And the next night. And….ACK! Oh man, have you ever wasted away time on that site? One night for me it was Queen, then Clay Aiken (yeah, I know…can’t help it!), then yesterday I come home from work and MusicMan has left a YouTube page up with a sticky note on the monitor telling to watch it. Check it out. It’s only 52 seconds, but it’s a recording of that part of the solo that Eddie Van Halen did which amazed both of us. Right now I am having issues getting my blog linked to YouTube but once I do THAT, well watch out! I may do a weekly You Tube post. I’ve got some fun stuff saved from those nights of video viewing.

I dumped the Wii idea for many of the same reasons! Plus I found the guitar game and a wireless guitar for my son’s PS2. It will have to do for a while!
