Things I learned today

LSM taught me that you can specific search blogs (vs web or images) when you do a Google search. You just have to click that little “more” button on the right and you get a drop down menu of more options for places to search. Hah! I’ve been Googling for ages and did not know that. Way cool. That explains how my blog gets so many hits on some of the searches I see. I could not figure out why my little site would be such a high traffic earner on the main Google.

Randi Rhodes taught me today that one of the people proven to have spread that awful Obama/Muslim email was non other than a Hillary Clinton county campaign supervisor. This was revealed in Dec, but Randi didn’t cover it too much because she was trying to remain detached on her show and let her listeners decide between the two candidates (this is Air America so it’s the liberal radio network). But with so many really low blows coming out of the Clinton camp this week including the way she is positioning herself *with* McCain against Obama..well..Randi took the gloves off. Good for her. Keith Olbermann was all over the Clinton campaign last night for the McCain loving too – YAY!

I learned that there is such a thing as a monitor that is Too Big. Music Man ordered a 24 inch flat panel LCD monitor from Dell to be used as both a computer monitor and TV for his room. I had been toying with the idea of a new monitor for the PC so I sat down to check his out. YIKES! I think I would need my laser surgery to be *reversed* in order to look at that thing all the time. Given that our PC desk is pretty shallow I think I shall be scratching that future purchase off the list.

I learned that I could upload my upcoming conference session schedule into Outlook and that then I can sync Microsoft Outlook which houses my work calendar with Google calendar which houses my personal schedule and THEN I can sync all of that onto my Blackberry. And that, dear readers, is called Geek Heaven!
